Danna Garland, Certified Yoga Fit and Pilates Mat Instructor & Owner
Danna is from the Rio Grande Valley, but has lived in Victoria for 45 years. She has been married for 44 years, has two children and twelve grandchildren.
Danna has always loved fitness and thru the years she has played softball, volleyball, ran half marathons while attending classes in aerobics, bench, cycling, Body Pump, Body Flow, and Body Combat. Ten years ago she was introduced to a 5 AM Yoga class as a way to reduce stress and it immediately gave herself a sense of calm and peace. That was all it took!
With some members of her gym Danna formed a SPOGA class, 30 minutes spin and 30 minutes Yoga and was asked to teach Yoga. She was reluctant at first but soon realized this was something she enjoyed and wanted to pursue. After 38 years she retired from Wells Fargo and immediately got her certification in Yoga and Pilates. Six months later she opened Yoga Chicks.

"I have such a passion for fitness and especially yoga because not only is it a great workout, while toning the body it teaches you self confidence, and above all it's an awesome destresser. Yoga can teach you ways to calm yourself during a stressful situation using breathing techniques. I have people who will come to my yoga class for the first time and will leave saying, "WOW, I never knew Yoga was such an awesome workout!" They leave with a whole new respect for yoga."
